Because we love ice cream & Halloween, we had to create our own DIY Hand Painted Ice Cream Pumpkins inspired by the wonderful blogger Aww Sam! If you’re a fan of painting and not carving, this is a perfect way to celebrate Halloween in the sweetest way possible!
The supplies you’ll need:
Paint (We used Acrylic, and mixed our own colors)
Small Pumpkins (We used plastic decor pumpkins from Target, any color will work)
A Surface to Mix Paint on
Ice Cream Cones
Start by mixing your colors. We chose to do Mint Chocolate Chip, Neapolitan & Candy Corn pumpkin ‘scoops!’ So cute! For these you will need: pink, brown, light yellow, black, mint green, bright yellow, white & orange paint.
Next you will paint all of your pumpkins white. A white base is important to make all of your colors POP!
This may have been easier if we had started with pumpkins that are not black… use our mistakes as a learning experience 😛 !
Next step is the base coat for Mint Chocolate Chip. Start painting green!
Add the Chocolate Chips with a fine pointed brush.
Next up is Neapolitan. For this one we started by painting half of the pumpkin Vanilla with the light yellow…
And then half of it Strawberry with the light pink!
The final step for Neapolitan is adding the Chocolate strip in the middle. Because this color is darker it will be easy to coat over the yellow & pink.
The final pumpkin is Candy Corn, this one is a bit easier because you will be using the white undercoat as one of the colors. Less work = score! Start by painting an orange stripe around the middle.
Finally, paint the yellow at the top!
Voila! You have no made 3 beautiful Ice Cream Inspired Halloween Pumpkins! Although this is a super cute & fun alternative to carving, we can’t say it’s less of a mess… 😉
